Ducks Struggle with Growth and Special Teams Early in Season

It's tough to see the Anaheim Ducks struggling like this, especially with the talent they have on their roster. The fact that they’ve gone 50-97-17 over the last two seasons is alarming, and it seems like they’re stuck in a rut. The early season stats are concerning, particularly the power play woes. With players like Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry, you’d expect them to be converting more than 13% of their chances.

The lack of offensive production is a huge red flag. It’s not just about the numbers; it’s about the confidence and momentum that comes from scoring. If they can’t find a way to generate offense, it’s going to be a long season. The shot discrepancy is also alarming. Being outshot 85-34 in just two games is a recipe for disaster. It puts so much pressure on the goaltending, and while Lukas Dostal has been holding his own, he can’t do it all alone.

I think the coaching situation is also something to keep an eye on. Greg Cronin was brought in for player development, but if the team continues to plateau, he might find himself on the hot seat. The Ducks have a lot of young talent, and they need to find a way to harness that potential. It’s still early in the season, so there’s time for improvement, but they need to start showing some signs of growth soon. What do you think? Can they turn it around, or are we looking at another tough season for the Ducks?
